Scene + Heard 2026: Festival of New Work
Scene + Heard 2026 was presented in association with Dublin Municipal Theatre (DMT) at Smock Alley Theatre. The festival was funded by The Arts Council of Ireland and Dublin City Council Arts Office, and sponsored by RTÉ Supporting the Arts, Gorilla Design and Select Hire.
Trip Hazard Theatre were honoured to debut two of its brand new productions at the festival. The first, campy horror/comedy “Linda Martin is NOT a Vampire”, was produced in collaboration with Play Not Funny. The second was “Mermaids Have No Tears”, a musical theatre/comedy/fantasy.
“Elsie is a dreamer.
Iris is aloof.
The Irish siren of Eurovision is coming to town, and the girls will have to put their friendship to the test to prove that Linda Martin is NOT a vampire.”
“Every tale needs a hook.
Along the unforgiving shores of the Blasket Islands, three sisters are desperate for a new life. With the help of a talented, if neurotic, lighthouse keeper, they will forge the life that they deserve in the best way they know how.
They are going to start a band.
That is, if their siren voices don’t drive their male listeners to drown themselves in the ocean first…”
